Approaches to inclusive and antiracist teaching in archaeology

Please join us for a workshop on inclusive and antiracist teaching strategies in archaeology, designed for faculty and graduate students. The workshop will consist of a panel where speakers will discuss their experiences in teaching and learning archaeology, followed by discussion.

Presentations by Sydney Pickens, talking about her experiences as an educator and graduate of Columbia University’s archaeology major, Maxine Oland who’ll be discussing her recent article in the Journal of Archaeology and Education on teaching archaeology with inclusive pedagogy, Stephen Sansom on the work he has done with Cornell University’s Active Learning Initiative, and Kristina Douglass of Pennsylvania State University on inclusive fieldwork and teaching in Madagascar.
