Recep Can Mert completed his BA in Art History and Archaeology with a Double Major in History at Koç University. Subsequently, he earned his MA in Archaeology at Bilkent University, with his thesis titled “Sacred Spaces in Ancient Greece and Anatolia: Architectural Insights and Sensory Journeys of Eleusis and Klaros.” Simultaneously, he has been a Predoctoral Research Scholar affiliated with the UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences.
Recep Can Mert has participated in fieldwork with the Institute of Nautical Archaeology in Bodrum, working on Yenikapı Shipwreck Materials, and in Labraunda, where he excavated the Eastern Bath Complex. Additionally, he has worked at Claros and Sagalassos. Furthermore, he attended the AKMED Summer School of Numismatics and the ANAMED Summer School of Ancient Languages of Anatolia.
