Chiamaka L. Mangut
 

Chiamaka Mangut is an Anthropologist interested in human-plant-environment interaction, ancient population adaptation, and risk reduction strategies in unfavorable climatic/environmental conditions. Her research employs archaeobotanical methods to investigate past climate dynamics and their impacts on food production, subsistence strategies, and dietary patterns of a hill-dwelling Later Stone Age population in Central Nigeria, West Africa. She is also interested in exploring the emergence of plant domestication and food production in the Savanna region of Central Nigeria.

Chiamaka received her BSc and MSc in Archaeology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She has participated in archeological research in notable sites in Nigeria, such as Old Oyo Empire, Ife, Benue Valley, Iresi, and Jos Plateau. She is currently in the PhD program in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science.
