“From pottery to economy: The changing shape of interaction in Neolithic China”

Camilla Sturm, Research Affiliate, ISAW/NYU

ALL WELCOME

Camilla Sturm is an anthropological archaeologist interested in the responsiveness and resilience of economic systems to political and environmental change. Her research integrates geochemistry, regional survey, statistics, and ceramic analysis to understand the contribution of exchange and technological innovation to the emergence of social inequality and development of urbanism. She received my Ph.D. and Certificate in Asian Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, and is currently a Research Affiliate at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World at New York University. She has taught anthropology courses at New York University and Columbia University. Camilla is also an amateur ceramicist, contemporary dancer, and motorscooter enthusiast.
